A Little Humor for Your Tuesday

Isn’t it the truth though? Just this morning I was driving down Dewey and I thought we had an earthquake… Turns out it was just a massive hole followed by an even bigger hump-like-thing.

Thanks Robin!

What’s Up at Dewey & Lexington?

Months and months ago I noticed the county attorney standing at the corner of Dewey & Lexington (at the edge of the parking lot of UBC) for a few hours one afternoon.

Then recently there has been a lot of construction-y activity on the northwest corner of that intersection, for no real apparent reason. (Sidenote: they had a “sidewalk closed” sign up for a while one day, which was the funniest damn thing I’ve ever seen, being as there is, in fact, no sidewalk there… That gave me a hearty chuckle.)

Anyway, this morning I noticed that there was a truck at that corner with Rocky Mountain Traffic Control or something like that. So I guess that explains that. I wonder if they’re going full-on stoplight, or if it’s going to be some sort of half-assed solution. Either way, it’s gotta be an improvement over what’s going on there now….

Remember when it wasn’t even a 4-way stop? Those were the days….

I searched the Standard’s archives for any information on the activity at that intersection but didn’t find anything. I haven’t really been keeping up with my paper reading lately so it could have been a front page story and I may have missed it. If you have any info, let me know….

Road Conditions – Be Careful!

I just got home a little while ago and the roads could not be more like a sheet of ice. The sanding trucks have been out but it’s barely doing any good with how iced over everything is out there.

Be careful, buckle up, and leave for your destination with some extra time to get there!

Rowe Road

Okay, so they put another 45 MPH sign southbound along Rowe Road, which is great. It’s not buried in the weeds. And that’s fantastic.

I still have yet to be able to actually go 45 MPH on Rowe Road because there’s always SOMEONE who insists on going 20! This is my biggest Butte peeve by FAR. If you want to go that slow, Butte has many other streets available. But for now, the speed limit on Rowe/Holmes is 45 and it’s dangerous to drive that far below the speed limit. There is going to be an accident one day with how backed up it tends to get.

Attention Travelers!

It was announced earlier that Interstate 15 from Lima into Idaho a distance has been closed due to a severe brush fire.

When more info becomes available, we’ll keep you up to date.

Edit: Apparently I-15 has been reopened.
