Bye Bye, Roun’town Review

Butte’s sure going to miss the Roun’town Review as they call it quits after 12 years. Jack Hanley has always been a tireless supporter of the Butte community and has always worked hard to present Butte with positive news, which in Butte is not always easy – especially over the years of the Roun’town’s tenure.

Jack, thanks for all of your hard work! Enjoy your retirement! If you ever have something to say, send it on in to us and we’ll happily post it.

Get the scoop.

New Grocery Chain in Butte?

Three Bears Alaska, Inc.

Butte may be getting a new grocery/big-box-store. It was announced recently that Three Bears Alaska Inc., a large-scale grocery store, is looking at the property west of Thunderbolt Harley-Davidson on Mount Highland Drive. The store would also contain a gas station.

Find out more by reading the article in the Montana Standard or by checking out what the Butte Rats have to say about it.

Resolution to Wrestling Coach Ad

As it turns out, the ad in the Standard was just a formality in Jim Street’s contract.

Butte High Wrestling Coach Calling it Quits?

I noticed today as I was sifting though the Montana Standard while doing my daily routine that Butte School Dist. #1 is advertising for a head wrestling coach position for Butte High School.

This is the first I’ve heard of it. I found it odd that the classifieds in the Standard had the job opening but there was no story in the news section or even the sports section regarding the issue.

The Montana Standard Classifieds ad text:

Butte School District No. 1 is accepting applications for the following positions at Butte High School: HEAD WRESTLING COACH (Stipend $3147-$3592 DOE), HEAD GOLF COACH (Stipend $2109 -$2405 DOE). Applications available at the Human Resource Office, 111 N. Montana Street, Butte or by calling 533-2506. Deadline 4:30 p.m., 4/10/06/ Late applications will not be considered. EOE.

If anyone has any information, feel free to comment. I’ll do some diggin’ myself and see what I can turn up.
